The paralegal role is envisioned as an important member of the Legal & Compliance (L&C) team working across financial advisory, corporate, and Lazard Asset Management (LAM) to drive L&C efficiency and response times while supporting both specific groups Private Capital Advisory (PCA) and firm-wide Lazard priorities (board meetings; onboarding new employees; etc.). 

We’ll trust you to:

• Provide legal, regulatory, and compliance support to Legal & Compliance department leadership and key business partners.
• Conduct private placement investor screenings and assist with post-closing activities, including joinders, and collection of investor information.
• Coordinate onboarding processes for new hires, including scheduling orientations, distributing legal/compliance materials, tracking paperwork, and responding to basic policy inquiries.
• Manage third-party subpoena responses by coordinating document collection, issuing preservation notices, maintaining Bloomberg Vault holds, and tracking deadlines accordingly.
• Support compliance training programs through presentation preparation, meeting logistics, attendance tracking and follow up.
• Assist with year-end compliance manual (CM) and code of ethics (CE) updates, affirmation tracking, and related communications.
• Perform routine email surveillance and review of information barrier mailboxes.
• Contribute to preparation of regulatory reports (i.e. FINRA rule 3120), including compiling exhibits and certifications.
• Coordinate trademark renewals/registrations by gathering required documentation and tracking status.
• Maintain board-related corporate records, including minutes, D&O questionnaires, and other governance materials.

You’ll need to have:

• Effective communication with experience collaborating across multiple teams and seniority levels.
• Adept skills in handling multiple and competing priorities with accuracy and efficiency.
• A high degree of detail orientation with strong tracking, deadline management, and follow-up abilities.
• Legal, regulatory and compliance expertise, with preference for experience with corporate policies, codes of ethics, and financial services industry.

We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately $125,000 – $175,000 USD. Various factors contribute to determining the actual base compensation offered, including but not limited to the applicant’s years of relevant experience, career tenure, qualifications, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, relevant skills for the role. Base salary is one component of Lazard’s compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.
