Looking for a professional Sous Chef to be the second-in-command in our kitchen, following our Head Chef’s specifications and guidelines. The successful candidate will employ their culinary and managerial skills to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers’ satisfaction.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Cook and prepare food following approved recipes while producing high-quality plates by both design and taste
  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in an efficient that meets standards
  • Store food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils. Cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving area. Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service to comply with all sanitation, safety, production, and merchandising requirements
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to staff
  • Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies. Tracks product production, consumption and waste. Informs supervisor when supplies or product are low
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Head Chef and Floor Manager
  • Assume responsibility for kitchen and food-service associates in the absence of Head Chef
  • Be flexible and able to stay late to work various evening functions

You’ll need to have:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience as a Sous Chef and at least two years in client a la carte dining
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Familiarity with industry’s best practices
  • BS degree in Culinary Science or related certificate a plus
  • Knowledge of pertinent state/federal health and sanitation regulations
  • Proactive mindset to anticipate and support change in daily business levels
  • Highest level of personal integrity and ethical behavior
  • Ability to successfully complete the pre-employment process

We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately $80,000 - $85,000. Various factors contribute to determining the actual base compensation offered, including but not limited to the applicant’s years of relevant experience, career tenure, qualifications, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, relevant skills for the role, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. Base salary is one component of Lazard Corporate’s compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.
