This role supports the Head Chef and other culinary team members in the coordination and execution of Lazard’s onsite dining. In this very hands-on role, the Garde Manger will primarily be responsible for the production of cold foods and for assisting with other kitchen duties as needed. Food services for client events can range from continental breakfasts and lunch buffets to fine dining a la carte lunches and upscale cocktail parties.

We’ll trust you to:

• Be responsible for the choosing, preparing, and presenting cold foods such as fruits, salads, sandwiches, cookies, and desserts
• Assist with equipment maintenance and cleaning
• Maintain quality control and cleanliness of work area in accordance with health department regulations
• Fill in at other stations when chefs are absent
• Collaborate with executive chef and sous chef in the development and implementation of menus
• Monitor waste and over production

You’ll need to have:

• Fundamental knowledge of cooking
• Knife skills, including cutting, chopping, carving, and dicing
• Ability to work efficiently in a team environment while sometimes being under considerable pressure
• Flexibility to stay late to work various evening functions (overtime is available)

 We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately $50,000 - $55,000. Various factors contribute to determining the actual base compensation offered, including but not limited to the applicant’s years of relevant experience, career tenure, qualifications, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, relevant skills for the role, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. Base salary is one component of Lazard Corporate’s compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.
