The Lazard Private Capital Advisory (PCA) is a global business with offices in the US, Europe and Asia.  The team operates in two core markets: secondary sale advisory and primary private fund raising.  These businesses combine investment banking activity (deal origination, due diligence, strategic and financial advice, structuring and execution) with capital markets functions (sales and distribution).  The group is a recognized leader in these markets. 

Lazard’s Secondary Advisory group is mandated by (i) institutional investors seeking liquidity from alternative investments, or (ii) alternative investment managers seeking to recapitalize or restructure an existing investment vehicle.  Lazard advises our clients with regard to the preparation of materials, financial position of alternative investment portfolios, sale or recapitalization process and other items.

 

PCA is looking for a 2023 Summer Associate to join our Secondary Advisory team based in New York.  Summer Associates will work as part of a small client team on a variety of projects throughout the 10-week program.  During the Summer Associate program, our goal is for you to enjoy a uniquely tailored experience which includes accountability to a specific group as well as opportunities for building relationships and skills across other groups at the Firm. You will receive formal mentorship, exposure to our Leadership Team, and are invited to participate in various social and networking events with bankers across the Firm.

Day-to-day activities are dependent on your prior experience and abilities, and include: financial analysis and modeling, the creation and preparation of client presentations, and interaction with clients, among other things.

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ year of prior working experience in relevant industries and/or sectors
  • Currently be matriculated at a MBA, JD or other graduate program and within two years of graduating
  • Must be a top academic performer who is comfortable in an unstructured environment which values initiative, creativity, maturity, and poise
  • Strong quantitative background
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Team player
  • Interest in financial services, private equity, and other alternative investment strategy

Compensation: Pro-rated base annual salary of $185,000
