The Corporate technology group is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to lead a Corporate Data Service team. This is a hands-on position. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of data services within the Corporate business lines. Initial implementation and designs will focus on database designs for use by PowerBI, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
We’ll trust you to:
- Design, implement and maintain systems and processes required to store, process, secure and access corporate data.
- Build and optimize data pipelines, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into effective database designs, data models and data flows.
- Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and other best practices.
- Work with the Corporate Solution Architect group to provide data services solutions, resolve data performance issues and provide technical support to end-users as needed.
- Work within the framework and standards set by Lazard’s Data Service group.
- Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal policies and procedures.
- Install and organize information systems to guarantee company functionality.
- Prepare accurate database design and architecture reports for review.
- Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
- Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommend and implementing improvements to existing data services and processes.
- Educate staff members through training and individual support.
You’ll need to have:
- Proven expertise in Snowflake data modeling techniques, including dimensional modeling and normalization
- In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring).
- Strong experience in an Azure cloud environment,
- Hands on experience with development languages such as Python.
- Experience in ETL development. Alteryx experience a plus.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- An ability to understand front-end users' requirements and a problem-solving attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Certifications in Snowflake Cloud Data Platform, strong familiarity with PowerBI for analytics & visualizations.
- A good understanding of infrastructure layers (networking, information security, database, etc.) and ability to work with respective infrastructure teams, DevOps and app development teams to help structure high performing, cost effective solutions.

We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately 200,000 - 230,000 USD. Various factors contribute to determining the actual base compensation offered, including but not limited to the applicant’s years of relevant experience, career tenure, qualifications, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, relevant skills for the role. Base salary is one component of Lazard Asset Management’s compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.
