Financial Restructuring Analyst – Frankfurt/Munich

Lazard is seeking to recruit an Analyst to join the Restructuring & Capital Solutions team in Frankfurt or Munich. The group specializes in helping investors and shareholders, debtors and creditors in distressed and special situations, restructurings and takeovers, as well as refinancing and debt capital raising processes.

The Restructuring & Capital Solution units constitute an important strategic pillar of our Financial Advisory business. The team helps its clients to cut through complexity and make informed decisions with confidence. Through a combination of restructuring and industry-related expertise, we have solidified our place as the leading financial restructuring advisory firm in Europe and across the globe. 

Over the past decade, Lazard has advised on more than 500 restructurings worldwide, with an aggregate value of over $2 trillion, including many of the largest and most complex. Unlike most other firms, our professionals combine an extensive knowledge of restructuring strategies with M&A expertise, credit analysis skills, capital markets knowledge and industry expertise, as well as strategic negotiation experience in distressed situations.

Lazard offers the unique opportunity to work as part of small deal teams on strategic and fast-paced DACH and cross-border assignments, providing meaningful exposure to senior bankers and client representatives.

Day-to-day activities of Restructuring Analysts include:

  • Prepare, analyze and help explain historical and projected financial information
  • Create complex financial models and conduct valuation analysis
  • Coordinate and perform business due diligence
  • Prepare confidential client presentations, marketing pitches and other presentations
  • Prepare preliminary valuation analysis, supporting discussions and negotiations with various stakeholders involved in the process
  • Assist in the marketing and planning of engagements
  • Build relationships and maintain direct contact with existing and prospective clients, such as corporates, financial sponsors, creditors and alternative capital providers, as well as professional advisors
  • Closely collaborate with DACH M&A, European / US Restructuring, Global Capital Solutions and sector teams

Qualified candidates will possess a combination of the following attributes:

  • Outstanding record of academic achievement
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with an ability to build complex financial models with ease
  • Ability to manage own work in a high-pressure environment
  • A demonstrated, genuine interest in Financial Restructuring and/or in working on complex and large financial transactions
  • Motivation to work in an interdisciplinary team and contribute to a positive team culture
  • Personal integrity, drive, enthusiasm, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highest standards of professional and ethical conduct
  • Fluent German and English
