About the Lazard Private Capital Advisory Group

The Lazard Private Capital Advisory (PCA) Group is a global business within Lazard’s Financial Advisory division and serves as an advisor in the marketing and sale of various financial products.  The group has three lines of business and is a recognised leader in each:

  • Private equity fund placement: raising institutional capital for buyout, growth capital, special situations, venture capital and credit fund managers;
  • Real estate fund placement: raising institutional capital for real estate fund managers; and
  • Secondary private market advisory: conducting sales processes of direct company interests or existing fund positions on behalf of both fund managers and institutional investors.

The PCA team has over 75 professionals globally and is comprised of two primary functions: transaction management and investor coverage.  The transaction management team is located in New York City, London, Paris and Singapore.  The team works closely with the fund manager and is responsible for evaluating potential new business opportunities, preparing the offering materials to take a transaction to market, preparing and updating due diligence materials, effectively coordinating roadshows, managing the due diligence process and closing the vehicle.

The investor coverage team is located across multiple offices in the U.S. and offices in London, Paris and Singapore.  This team has highly cultivated relationships with more than 1,500 institutional investors globally, including public and corporate pension funds, endowments and foundations, financial institutions, fund of funds, family offices and sovereign wealth funds.

The transaction management and investor coverage teams collaborate in order to ensure a targeted and effective marketing process.

Position

Lazard’s Private Capital Advisory Group is seeking to recruit an Intern to join the transaction management team based in London, working in the private equity fund placement and real estate fund placement lines of the business.  Interns will be involved in all aspects of the capital raising process across various mandates, usually for multiple clients simultaneously, each of which is probably at a different phase of the fundraising process.   • Meeting prospective clients with senior bankers and analysing financial and qualitative information in order to assist in the group’s due diligence prior to signing up a new mandate;
  • Assisting in the positioning of the client’s investment strategy and the preparation of marketing materials, including private placement memoranda, investor presentations and due diligence materials;
  • Designing and coordinating capital raising activities and international roadshows;
  • Communicating regularly with Lazard’s institutional investor coverage professionals;
